Job Description:
- Supervise all personnel and operations at flexographic printing press plant to perform complex printing jobs.
- Train new personnel and ready new flexographic printing press and related equipment.
- Prepare each job, match copy card specifications, change plates, change cylinders, and change die chases on wide web tag and label presses.
- Receive and validate raw material. Implement preventive maintenance programs.
- Inspect quality while press during and after press runs. Monitor the proper operation of the press cylinders while adjusting feed and tension controls.
- Examine job orders to determine details such as quantities to be printed, production times, stock specifications, colors, and color sequences and ensure the plant has sufficient personnel, equipment, and materials to complete orders.
- Develop and train new hires.
- Communicate and coordinate production activities with parent company in Mexico.
- Manage profit and loss for the facility. Work with outside vendors for purchase of operating supplies.
- Perform material transactions in ERP of raw, in process and finished goods materials used in production processes.
Requirements:
- 3 years of experience as a Flexography Plant Manager or related flexography role.
- Experience must include:
- Manufacturing flexographic, pressure sensitive labels for product packaging.
- Expanded Gamut (CMYKOGV) printing process.
- Solvent-less lamination, wrapper/bagger (horizontal and vertical), labelers, and commercial chiller.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English).
